Street Version

There are not a lot of bad things to say about the 997 Turbo.  It’s powerful, fast, and comes with a long list of standard options.  But if there were one thing we could find to complain about, it would be the Turbo’s relatively anemic exhaust note.  The Tubi Style street exhaust system for the 997 Turbo is a major improvement over the factory part both in terms of sound and performance.  By using 200 cell high-flow catalytic converters and a proprietary free-flowing center muffler, the Tubi system relieves backpressure and allows the VTG turbochargers to spool much quicker and react more responsively to driver input.  As a result of this free flow of exhaust gasses, the Tubi system is responsible for 15-20 horsepower gains, and also produces a much more pleasing exhaust note.  This system is very commonly referred to as “the best of both worlds” because of its unique ability to combine performance and drivability.   During normal driving and highway cruising the sound is very similar to stock, without any increase in cabin resonance.  During hard acceleration the free flowing characteristics take over and create a much sportier sound.

Race Version

Although the 200 cell catalytic converters that are included in the Tubi Style street exhaust system for the 997 Turbo are far less restrictive then the stock 600 cell cats, there are certain applications where even they are still too restrictive.  If power is your ultimate goal, then the Tubi Race is the answer.  By completely eliminating the catalytic converters and using a specially designed free-flowing center muffler, the Race system minimizes backpressure and compliments higher horsepower applications, including the use of larger upgraded Billet VTG Turbochargers, perfectly.   The increased flow is responsible for an additional 5-10 horsepower over the standard Tubi Street system, on an otherwise stock car.  Tubi also included O2 simulators in the Race system to relocate the Oxygen sensors out of the direct flow of exhaust gasses, eliminating any potential CEL (check engine light) issues associated with removing the catalytic converters. Because Tubi realizes that the larger majority of their exhaust systems will spend their time on street cars, the center muffler was also slightly redesigned in this system in order to keep cabin resonance and overall volume at an acceptable level for day to day use without making any compromises in performance. The end result is an intoxicating sound, combining the whistling sound of turbochargers with the distinct exhaust note of a finely tuned Porsche.

About Tubi Style

Tubi Style SRL is strategically located in Maranello, Italy, sometimes referred to as the “Terra dei Motori”, just around the corner from Ferrari’s prestigious factory.  The company was founded in 1987 by Fausto Lettieri and Enrico Ruini, who dreamt of using their years of Formula One exhaust experience and passion for high performance automobiles to translate raw engine noise into music.  With Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and DeTomaso all being produced right in their backyard, Lettieri and Ruini immediately gained widespread recognition among local owners for their exceptionally hand-crafted exhaust systems.  By 1993, overwhelming demand for Tubi Style exhaust systems quickly overshadowed supply, forcing Tubi Style SRL to move to it’s current manufacturing facility located in Ubersetto, Italy.

With a staff of about 40 skilled employees, Tubi Style devotes nearly half of their efforts to developing and manufacturing the highest quality and most unique sounding exhaust systems on the market today.  Their remaining efforts are dedicated to the manufacturing of OE (original equipment) exhaust systems for several prestigious automobile manufacturers, as well as their continued involvement in professional racing where the company supplies exhaust systems for many Ferrari and Maserati factory GT race cars.

Since 1987, Tubi Style has expanded their offerings from their locally produced Italian sports cars (Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini) to also include the likes of Bentley, Audi, BMW, Aston Martin, and Porsche. Whether you’re driving a larger BMW sedan or a pure bred race car like the Ferrari F40, Tubi Style is guaranteed to deliver the perfect blend of performance and sound. There’s only one way to truly experience what makes Tubi Style exhaust systems so special; you just have to hear it.
